About Us
Dr. Baxter began in the field of child abuse, expanding her interests to needless suffering of all children.
She has an expertise in pain control in children, with publications involving needle pain, procedural sedation, and
scales to rate somatic complaints (i.e. nausea). Her experience and philosophy are that healthcare workers underestimate
the impact of needle pain in children. For this reason, all her research has been directed to demonstrate secondary gain
to the healthcare worker who uses pain control: improved spinal tap success, increased venipuncture success, or decreased
time in the emergency department.
Her extensive clinical experience in pediatric emergency departments dictates that
MMJ products be practical, fast, and easy to use. Her active clinical status and work with hospital pain teams allows
access to patient populations for whom these products are designed. She has corporate and entrepreneurial experience
as well: as an undergraduate at Yale she co-founded a successful school supplies distribution company. Following medical school,
a consulting relationship with Kaplan Educational became a full time position as National Director of Medical Programs,
with brand management responsibilities for all medical test preparatory products (MCAT, USMLE, NCLEX, DAT, etc.)
Currently she relinquished her position as site PI for an industry sponsored trial in order to devote time to MMJ labs.
She is an invited lecturer on pediatric pain and sedation at three national conventions in 2007, and has three children
who have cumulatively received more than 60 recommended vaccines in their lifetimes.
Wendy Leonard’s background is in the tax compliance outsourcing industry, with experience developing and
managing projects in a start-up company. Her main focus has been product development and operational management to bring
new technology- dependent service offerings to market. As part of that, Ms. Leonard manages relationships with off shore
vendors that span RFP development/evaluation, onsite training, and ongoing performance audit. She writes and lectures on
sales tax process best practices.
